The Beach was an immersive multimedia and multisensory family space and exhibition. The play-and-chill-scape was conceived as several connecting zones of light, playful forms, for all-ages.

The ramped exhibition gallery included contemporary and historical views of beachside life, by artists including Anne Zahalka, Max Dupain, Lola Ryan, Charles Meere and Ken Done.
The centrepiece was a 'big-blocks' soft sandcastle, with a lifeguard tower and chillout sunshade zone.
